The announcement was made in a statement signed by Abdul Hannan Masood, one of the coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, on Tuesday night (July 30).
The statement highlighted that many students have lost their lives in the violence during the movement. In this context, the mass arrests being carried out against ordinary students, movement coordinators, and opposition political leaders to suppress the movement are a clear violation of the country's constitution and a severe breach of human rights. Over the past 12 days, more than ten thousand people have been arrested, and homes are being raided at night to check for any students. Additionally, cases are being filed against ordinary citizens.
The statement further mentioned that in such circumstances, in protest of the student-public killings, mass arrests, attacks, and cases across the country, and in demand for justice based on a United Nations investigation and the 9-point demands of the student community, a 'March for Justice' will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, in all courts, campuses, and main roads.
The statement called on the government to accept the 9-point demands to stabilize the country. It also urged teachers, lawyers, human rights activists, professionals, laborers, and all citizens across the country to fully support the program and stand in solidarity with the demands.
